Up and Down
I lost my job last Wednesday and since then it's been an emotional roller coaster for my mind. On one hand, I see it as an opportunity to try my hand at something else, but what weighs the most heavily on my heart is that I have lost the stability that my previous job has given me for over 8 years.

Allergy Testing and H1N1 Vaccine
So today was Rowan's allergy test after he had an adverse allergic reaction to his first H1N1 flu vaccine shot. It turns out that he's allergic to raw eggs and peanuts. Apparently he will grow out of the raw egg allergy, and they will continue to monitor his blood until he's 13 to see if he can grow out of the peanut allergy.
But at least we know now. Rowan now has Epipens just in case anything happens, so we'll be training all of our family and friends on how to use them. His second dose of H1N1 Vaccine is schedules for next Thursday.

Roro Mario
Rowan was Mario this year. The costume was hand made by Ritchie and it looks so cute on him. He loved his "boing-boing" pants and hat.

Halloween 2009
I've always looked forward to Halloweens. It's probably because I loved it so much as a kid, but was never really allowed to participate in it. Last year's haunt went very well, and it was the first exposure the kids on my block had of the Magic Mirror, unless that is, they ventured to my old place in 2007 when I first used the Magic Mirror prop.

H1N1 Drama
Today I took the day off to line up to get the H1N1 flu shot for Rowan and myself. Lately the buzz has been the extremely long lineups at the clinics that offer the shot. For a city of 1 million people, there were only 4 clinics available. Other cities handled their crowds far better than Alberta did. Cities like Vancouver only gave the shot to the high risk groups, where as for now it seems like a free for all.
